Dialogue 2008: Magsalita


Dialogue Magsalita is Nov. 14-16 and D1 is going to be rolling deep.

We have a Facebook event to help organize D1s accommodations and transport to Dialogue. Its called “D1 goes to Dialogue.” All the pertinent information is below as well.

Dates and Deadlines
Nov. 1st - Last day to pre-register on the website http://www.findinc.org/dialogue2008/
Nov. 1st - Last day to postmark payments
$20 - Member School Pre-Reg Fee
$25 - Non-Member School Pre-Reg Fee
Nov. 1st - Last day to use D1 sponsored transportation.

Registration:
Make sure to register yourself and pay registration fees with your school. Ways to send in payment are on the 2008 Dialogue Website.

Transportation:
Two options:
1- D1 Sponsored, We will be renting 2--15 passenger vans to take people from Boston to the hotel and Rutgers, Livingston Campus. We have room to take the first 25 people who respond to Rutgers.

Cost with accommodations $61

2 - On your own. We will organize groups of people to take the bus (Boltbus, Megabus, Greyhound) to NY Port Authority and either walk or take the metro to NY Penn Station. You can then take the train to Edison station along the Northeast Corridor on the NJ Transit Authority. We will have shuttle vans to take you from the train station to the hotel and to Rutgers Saturday morning.

3. Drive yourself and friends. Please let us know if you decide to take this option, so we can make sure you get safely to NJ.

**If we have more interest in taking a passenger van, we will need groups of 15 people with 1 of those people, 21 or over, to drive people.

Accommodations:

D1 has 12 rooms at the Holiday Inn. The secondary hotel which is next door to Best Western (primary hotel). The rate we have them for is $89 a night, but with a stay on Friday, Saturday + tax, the cost will be $204.70. Each room has 1 king bed and a sleeper sofa with memory foam; it is non-smoking. We plan on sleeping 8-10 people per room, to cut costs. If you would prefer a different arrangement, let us know.

Groups will be organized by Nov. 6th. If you have a group you would like to travel or stay with, please indicate that in your email. Preferably 1 email should be sent per group.

Started in 1993, D1 is a collegiate organization dedicated to promoting awareness of issues pertaining to Filipinos nationwide, preserving and promoting Filipino Culture, and providing the means for initiating action and dialogue within the community.

D1 consists of Filipino culture clubs from the following member schools: Berklee College of Music, Boston College, Boston University, Brown University, Clarke University, Harvard University, MIT, Northeastern University, Tufts University, University of Massachusetts Boston, and Wellesley College.
