Umawit Sa Kagalakan (Sing With Joy)


Celebrated Philippine choir, Ateneo Chamber Singers, will be coming to Boston this Fall. On the heels of their recent first-prize victory at the prestigious International Choral Contest in Tolosa, Spain, the choir brings their unique brand of Filipino choral artistry to Boston audiences. The diverse and eclectic concert program will include works by Stroope, Hogan, Miskinis as well as Filipino composers Francisco Feliciano, Ryan Cayabyab and Joel Navarro. They will also be performing choral renditions of inspirational songs by Twila Paris, Josh Groban and other contemporary artists. Concert proceeds will be donated to Gawad Kalinga.

Started in 1993, D1 is a collegiate organization dedicated to promoting awareness of issues pertaining to Filipinos nationwide, preserving and promoting Filipino Culture, and providing the means for initiating action and dialogue within the community.

D1 consists of Filipino culture clubs from the following member schools: Berklee College of Music, Boston College, Boston University, Brown University, Clarke University, Harvard University, MIT, Northeastern University, Tufts University, University of Massachusetts Boston, and Wellesley College.
